When someone says “Keto” is dangerous or is not safe. Dont blame anyone for thinking this way. Cause thats the way we all have been brain washed and made to believe. Nutrition Science has been focussed on Glucose and Energy Metabolism  related to Glucose, hence we have only learnt about how Carbs work for giving us energy during any physical activity and also for brain function.

Their is no denial Glucose from Carbs work for physical & brain function. Question is is Carbohydrate the only source for Glucose or is there any alternative pathway? Last 15 years have been most productive as far as Research in Ketosis is concerned, but you will be surprised to know, Ketogenic Diets have been a part of treating Epilepsy since the early 20th Century (1920-1930) & Low Carb diets have been used to treat Diabetes since 1880 until “Insulin” was discovered around 1920’s. Later Sugar Industry, Vegetable oil industry along with Processed food industry managed to influence Research in a way to help their business interests. This is where Dr Ancel Keys played a huge role in convincing a entire generation that Fat from Food is responsible for Heart Disease which later influenced American Dietary Guidelines creating the famous Food Pyramid.

These new guidelines ensured we ate more carbs less saturated fat and also ensured the entire Research focussed on Carbs & its benefits for Human function. The influence of Dr Keys & the associated industries was so strong that “Ketosis” developed a negative connotation to it. But because of people like Dr Atkins, Dr Phinney, research & interest in Ketosis survived. Today we know what we have missed and what is the root cause of Low Immunity & epidemic of Diabetes, Heart Disease & even Cancer. The root cause is excess consumption of Refined Carbs, Sugar & Wheat.
